Kitchen cleaning

Kitchen cleaning, from hood to floor

A kitchen used daily builds grease in places a cloth cannot reach: inside the hood, behind burners, under appliance edges. This service works through every surface in order, so nothing is left to harden further.

  • Hood and filters degreased
  • Oven cavity fully cleared
  • Safe on food-contact surfaces
  • No residue left behind

Why a kitchen needs more than a daily wipe

Grease does not stay where it lands. It migrates into hood filters, coats the inside of the oven, and carbonises on burner grates until no household product will shift it. Left long enough, it becomes both a hygiene problem and a harder job, a kitchen cleaned properly now stays cleaner for longer.

  • Hood grease that has hardened over time

Cooking fumes deposit layers of polymerised fat on the canopy, mesh filters and the duct entry above them. A professional degrease dissolves these before they trap odours and begin to drop back onto food.

  • Preparing for a landlord walkthrough

Landlords check inside cupboards, behind appliances and the grout around the sink. A thorough clean covers each of those points before the inspection, not after the deposit is disputed.

  • A kitchen with no recent deep clean

Surfaces that look clean under warm light often carry carbonised residue around the burners and bacteria along the countertop-wall join. A proper clean works into the joins and crevices a daily routine does not reach.

  • Humidity bringing old smells back

In a coastal climate, grease residue in tile grout and behind appliances absorbs moisture and returns as odour when humidity rises. Removing the source is the only fix; masking it with fragrance does nothing.

What this service covers

Every booking includes the following scope in full. Nothing on this list is treated as an optional extra.

  1. Degreasing the hood and filters

    Degreasing the hood and filters

The canopy interior, exhaust filters and surrounding metalwork are degreased with a product that dissolves polymerised fat without damaging the finish.

  2. Cleaning inside the oven cavity

    Cleaning inside the oven cavity

The oven cavity, door glass, racks and base tray are cleaned of carbonised residue, leaving food-contact surfaces free of baked-on grease.

  3. Scrubbing burners and stovetop grates

    Scrubbing burners and stovetop grates

Cast-iron grate rings, burner caps and the stovetop surround are scrubbed to remove carbonised spatter and expose clean metal underneath.

  4. Wiping cabinet doors inside and out

Wiping cabinet doors inside and out

Cabinet door faces, edges, handles and interior shelves are wiped free of the grease film and settled dust that accumulates during daily cooking.

  5. Cleaning countertops and backsplash tiles

    Cleaning countertops and backsplash tiles

Work surfaces and backsplash tiles are cleaned along the full length, including the grout lines where residue and moisture collect between uses.

  6. Scrubbing the sink and faucet

    Scrubbing the sink and faucet

The sink basin, drain surround and faucet are scrubbed and descaled, removing limescale and soap build-up from the metal and ceramic surfaces.

  7. Wiping refrigerator and appliance surfaces

    Wiping refrigerator and appliance surfaces

Refrigerator door faces, side panels and handles are wiped clean, along with the exterior surfaces of other appliances sitting on the counter.

  8. Mopping and washing the kitchen floor

Mopping and washing the kitchen floor

The kitchen floor is swept clear, then washed with a product suited to the tile or stone surface, including the strip along the base of the units.

How the job runs from arrival to handover

The work follows a fixed sequence so that each stage does not undo the one before it.

  1. Assess surfaces and protect the area

The team identifies the surfaces present, tile type, countertop material, hood model, and covers appliances and the floor before any degreasing product is applied at height.

  2. Apply degreasers and allow dwell time

Cleaning agents are applied to the hood, oven and burners first, with enough contact time to dissolve hardened grease before scrubbing begins, avoiding abrasive force where it is not needed.

  3. Scrub and wipe from top to bottom

Each surface is worked in order from highest to lowest: hood and canopy, then oven and stovetop, then counters and cabinets, then the sink, and finally the floor so no drips re-soil finished areas.

  4. Final check and handover

The customer walks through each area before the team leaves. Any point that does not meet the agreed standard is addressed on the spot.

What the kitchen is left looking like

Each area is left in a state the customer can inspect immediately after the team finishes.

Grease-free hood and filters

The canopy interior, mesh filters and surrounding metalwork are clear of built-up fat. Air moves through the filters freely again, which is what they are designed to do.

Clean oven cavity and burner grates

Carbonised residue is removed from inside the oven and from the cast-iron grate rings. Surfaces are wiped to a state where nothing bakes on further at the next use.

Counters, sink and tiles ready to use

Work surfaces, backsplash grout and the sink basin are cleaned and dried. No product residue remains on food-preparation areas.

Questions worth asking first

Clearing the countertops and removing items stored inside the oven makes the job faster and more thorough. The team can work around items that cannot be moved, but open surfaces allow cleaning agents to be applied properly and rinsed completely.

The time depends on the size of the kitchen and how long grease has been building up. A lightly used kitchen takes less time than one where the hood and oven have not been deep-cleaned in many months. The team gives an honest estimate on arrival once they can see the actual conditions.

Products are matched to the surface type. Food-contact areas, countertops, the sink basin and the oven interior, are cleaned with materials appropriate for those surfaces and fully rinsed before the team leaves. Nothing is left to dry on a surface where food will be placed.

Yes, though heavy carbonisation requires a longer dwell time and sometimes a second application of cleaner. The team will tell you at the assessment stage if the oven is likely to need extra attention, so there are no surprises about what is and is not possible in one visit.

In a humid coastal climate, grease residue trapped in tile grout and behind appliances absorbs moisture and releases as odour the moment humidity rises. Surface wiping does not remove what is sitting in the grout joints. Cleaning the source thoroughly, not just the visible surface, is the only thing that stops the smell returning.

Running the hood extractor during cooking removes airborne fat before it settles on surfaces. Wiping the burner surrounds after each use stops carbonisation from building layer by layer. The hood filters and stovetop grates are the two areas that benefit most from attention between full cleans.
